Wonderful Christmas

All of us had a great Christmas. The girls were very excited. We had a great Christmas Eve at Nana's house as usual. There were more presents than there was room. They had a great time. Then Santa came and left them more great things on Christmas morning. Katelyn was amazed at how Santa ate the cookies and drank the milk that we left out for him. All in all it was a WONDERFUL Christmas. Now I am left with the overwhelming task of getting everything in it's appropriate place. Wish me luck!!

Countdown To Christmas

Christmas is almost here and we can't wait!! Here are a couple of pics that I took of the girls on Sunday before we went to church. They were also in the Christmas play at church on Sunday night. It was so cute. Katelyn was a sheep and Lauren was supposed to be a cow. At the last minute Lauren decided to have a costume protest and took the stage in her regular clothes!! Oh well...She still looked pretty darn cute. They acted out the Christmas story and then sang a couple of songs...cute, cute, cute!!!

Oh Christmas Tree

Today we wrapped the first of the presents. The girls are very excited to see something under the tree even if they aren't all for them. I took several pics of the girls with the trees. They were being silly of course. Anyway...here they are.

Katelyn being silly....like always!

This has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs! I thought it was a neat version!

Be sure and pause the music below if you want to watch.

Long Time, No Post

I realize it has been quite a while since our last post. As many of you know already we are expecting baby number three in early June and I haven't been feeling the greatest. I am finally starting to feel better and I hope that things will get back to normal. (Whatever that is!) We are hoping that by the first week of January we will know what we are having. I will keep everybody posted. We haven't been up to a whole lot. Trying to get ready for Christmas. The girls are very excited and can't wait for Santa. I think Lauren wants one of everything that she has seen since we started talking about Christmas. Anyway...I will post some new pics of the girls shortly, but in the meantime, here is one that I took out the back door a couple of weeks ago.

Halloween

Friday was Halloween and the girls have been excited for quite a while. As you can see Lauren was a chicken and Katelyn was a China Girl. They had a really good time going Trick or Treat at the church and then at Mamaw's. I think they like to hand out the candy as much as they like to get it. Anyway, I am glad it's over and luckily we have enough candy to last us through the winter.

The Pumpkin Patch

We headed out to the pumpkin patch on Sunday. The girls really had a good time and we spent several hours there. They had lots of games and other activities to do.

It is always fun to rope a wooden cow!

Look at these two scary scarecrows!!

Working the old hand pumps and racing ducks! Look at that concentration!

After a lot of searching, I think they found the perfect pumpkin!

The Glow of Halloween

I wanted to make sure and let everybody see these wonderful glowing pumpkins. I don't really know how long a carved pumpkin will last before it starts to pucker and die? Judging by the amount of time it took us, I mean me, to fix them, they better last until next year. Anyway...here they are in all of their glory!

Our First (And Probably Last) Pumpkin Carving

So for some reason I thought it would be fun to let the girls carve some pumpkins. Katelyn has been asking for a while, and I finally gave in. So we got all geared up and dug into the pumpkins. What we got was a HUGE mess. They were up to their elbows in seeds and strings, and the dog was eating droppings off the deck as fast as they could drop them. But, in the end, after a lot of carving and cutting by me, we ended up with two cute pumpkins and two proud little girls. So later on tonight I will light the candles and we will enjoy looking at our pumpkins...I mean really enjoy them because I doubt I will ever go for this again!

A Day At The Zoo

Last week was fall break and we spent one of those days at the zoo. We had not been there since they added the new part with all of the new exhibits. They really had a good time. Here are some of our favorites!

My favorite animals....these two monkeys!

And here are some of their favorites. They really liked the giraffe. She spent a good deal of time trying to lick them. I think she thought there was some food involved!

First Time for Everything!

Well, this is my first official post. I decided to create this blog as a way for all of you to get a good look at what we call our "CRAZY" little life! We are not extremely exciting, but we like it that way. I keep very busy managing my kids, Katelyn who is 6, and Lauren who is 3. I work part-time as a NICU nurse and I love to scrapbook. I have recently gotten into photography and taking pictures. I am still learning...but I am finding that I like taking the pictures as much a I like to scrapbook them. Anyway, I look forward to starting this new hobby and I hope you can get a good laugh from all of us and our Hilltop Hijinks!
